Pouya Mahmoodi

Pouya Mahmoodi is an Iranian guitarist, songwriter and singer born in Tehran in 1975.
He is a pioneer of Iranian world fusion style,
mixing Iranian folk music with other music styles such as jazz, blues, and rock.
He was the lead singer and guitarist of the band Barad, and, in 2008, he released his debut solo album, Mehr, which features drummer Billy Cobham on two songs.
In Feb 2007, Pouya joined Negar Rostami Nejad and 2 Swiss musicians to tour Switzerland and had 8 successful shows. The highlights of the tour were the shows in Atlantis in Basel and Moods in Zurich, which were both sold out.
